A very handsome plant that originates from Madagascar, with the benefits of being both highly ornamental and self-cleaning - the fronds fall off themselves.  It has a beautiful crown of leaves and is fast growing.  An excellent specimen plant that should be grown in the open to show off its beautiful shape.  Also makes a good container plant for large courtyards and patios when young.  Will tolerate cool conditions, prefers full sun to part shade.  A wind tolerant species.  Keep moist, but not wet.  Palms will benefit from a couple of applications of recommended fertiliser during the growing season to encourage strong, lush growth.
