'Star Wars' is a fast growing small deciduous tree with upright spreading habit. In mid-late spring, the tree is adorned with a profusion of massive, fragrant, bright rosy-pink flowers, flushed dark-pink at the base. The glossy green foliage emerges after the flowers have bloomed and is large and ovate in form. It prefers a moist, fertile and well-drained soil that is slightly acidic. A sunny aspect in a protected position is best. They also tolerate partial shade, and some protection from strong wind will enhance and prolong the flowering season.
