Also known as Red Cottonwood, this native hibiscus has showy yellow flowers and evergreen, red, heart-shaped leaves that give it a tropical appearance.
 
Growing as a spreading small tree it can be used as a windbreaker or as an attractive specimen plant.
 
Best grown in full sun to semi shade and in moist, well drained soil. Keep this plant warm and provide extra water during dry periods.
