This gum has a smooth trunk and large, lance-shaped leaves. From winter to spring it produces a profusion of deep pink flowers. This species shows variability in form and height. Ideal shelter and shade tree, good for erosion control. Suited to roadside planting, large gardens and parks. Thrives in moist, well drained soil in a sunny, open spot. Tolerates a wide range of soils and conditions including light frost, smog and periods of drought. Avoid planting this fast growing large tree near buildings.
