A low-growing succulent with rosettes of greyish-green leaves and small white prickles on the edges.  Spikes of yellow-orange flowers appear in summer.  Grown worldwide for its medicinal properties, the sap of this aloe is often used in skin-care products.  Grow indoors in a bright, well-lit position.  Outdoors, plant in a sunny to lightly shaded position in well drained soil.  Tolerant of periods of dryness.
